Wow! We are less than a week away from a new year.
If your life in 2025 has been anything like mine, you've definitely been leaning on the peace and goodness of God to get you through the year. 2025 for me was a year full of ups-and-downs that definitely kept me on my toes. This was the first year of my life I can say I truly gave my all to God, both personally and professionally, and maintaining my foundation in Him has allowed me to look ahead to 2026 with a high degree of confidence. I've seen chains broken in both my life and the lives of friends around me, as well as new blessings break through from seasons of hopeless darkness. Overall, I look back at 2025 with gratitude for what God has delivered me from and optimism for what He will continue to do as I surrender to Him.
Scripture Reading:
As good or bad as 2025 has been for you, I urge you to reflect upon the words recorded in Isaiah 43:18-19:
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
As long as we stayed rooted in surrender to Christ and seeing to it that His will is done on Earth as it is in heaven, we are never chained in slavery and submission to the past. A message God has put on my heart in the past week when I look back at the year has been this: pain without the aid of the Lord alters us, but pain with His aid only stings for a season. While you might have wrestled with pain points and discouragement in 2025 that feels life-altering, pain brought to God in prayer will lose its sting - and just as Isaiah writes, God is doing a new thing that we can look forward to!
"What's new with C.O.E. and Evan this week?"
As we look ahead to what next week is going to bring to life here on Earth, we are going to have some BIG changes to come. I am excited to bring the first-ever official release of CrossOver Everything Music to life, with the new track "Christ Trending Freestyle." I look forward to sharing more about the song after it is officially released on January 2nd (sorry!! I've gotta lean into the hype 😅). I'll personally be embarking on sharing more music through my solo channel and treading the RnB/Soul realm, feel free to head over to yourman3VAN on all streaming platforms if interested in that.
Prayer Break and Encouragement
If I could request prayer for anything, it would a number of things with my professional life heading into the new year:
- Prayer that God would meet me with new, innovative ideas to help the outreach of CrossOver Everything in providing life-changing ministry to those who need motivation to keep pursuing Christ and those who need to begin pursuing Him.
- Prayer that God would provide me with the energy to complete the tasks He has placed in front of me to build a foundation for success, especially with respect to the music I am working on, as well as finding ways to use it to start conversations about faith.
- Prayer that I would trust God with and surrender my finances to Him more openly to inject investment into my main e-commerce store (the one generating the majority of my income) - I struggle with covetousness just as future generations of my family have and want to be able to give to God with an open hand.
- Prayer for wisdom, clarity, focus and discernment to reach other small struggling artists and help build them up through UNPROMOTED SOUNDS and the skills and experience God has blessed me with abundantly over my life.
- Prayer that I would find either the time or people to help me to work on a secret project that has the potential to minister to an entire generation of people who are struggling and may never hear the Gospel.
Additionally, I would be grateful for any prayer regarding things in my personal life as well, and for some friends too:
- A friend of mine is moving away to Boston for work for the next 9 months, prayer for strength, endurance and courage to be sensitive to what God wants to do through him during his time in the city.
- I have family dealing with everyday health issues that require more medication than normal, so prayer that God would pour out healing in their lives.
- I would love to be able to learn to love in a personal, intimate and possibly romantic way and not the detached, transactional way I currently love people through, so prayer that God would continue to work on my heart.
- I would love to be able to encourage one person every day for the month of January, so prayer that I would not get discouraged by a lack of reciprocation in return or that God would reveal through who responds who I need to focus on supporting and encouraging.

Remember that asking for prayer is an act of confession to our brothers and sisters in Christ, and that through this confession to others and prayer for others, we are healed (James 5:16) - it might not be instant healing but God plants the seeds for healing within us through submission to Him.
