Welcome to another blessed week brothers and sisters!
Let's thank God that things truly seem different in this season of life. Despite all the cold weather and blizzard-like conditions we've been getting hit with up here in Ontario, we remain grateful that we are still able to gather in person and travel safely to wherever we need to get to see people.
After the scripture passage of an intro that was in last week's news report, it is nice to slow it down with a shorter intro. Let's get into the Word of God today!
Scripture Reading
Today's reading comes from the book of Proverbs, and can be found in 14:4 -
"Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest."
This verse serves as a reminder that we cannot make progress in this world with respect to what God has assigned to us if we are not willing to roll up your sleeves and actually DO the work. In our coming video on idolatry, we looked at the idol of comfort and security in relation to this. While comfort and security gives you a life that looks good either in appearance or on paper, those who idolize it often find life to be meaningless - just like Solomon in Ecclesiastes. Except for these people, there is no turning to God - just a loafing around in the "palace" they've built to keep them safe from the world. After all, confronting this would mean that all of their hard work to be secure and safe would have been for nothing.
God has so much more for us than laying around and being just "okay" with our lives. We see when God created the world, He worked hard for the day and then "saw it was good." While work itself can even seem meaningless, working for God is always meaningful when surrendered to Him. After all, let us not forget the words of Christ in John 6:29 -
"Jesus told them, 'This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.'"

More of the usual for us here at CrossOver Everything. We've settled into a good rhythm of recording, posting and sharing content clips over the course of the week, but we are listening attentively to see what else God may have in store and where else He may be calling us. One thing is for certain - we are prepared to go the distance to plant, water or harvest for Christ.
Unfortunately, "Christ Trending Freestyle" has been pushed back another week, and we are optimistically hoping and praying for it to finally release for good on the 23rd next week. Please stay tuned and show you support when the time comes!

Prayer Break and Encouragement
Our prayers right now are with the people of Iran, who are protesting against the current ruling regime that is punishing people for failing to comply to "laws" they have set. Reports are saying that casualties are above 16,000 as of now and surging upward. We pray for resolution to the conflict going on there and that this government would step aside in the name of peace, progress and Jesus.
From Evan: "My prayer would be that God would continue to show me what needs to stay in my life and what needs to go. I can feel parts of myself that genuinely need to be cut out as they don't bring any glory to God - and parts I can hear Him calling me to lean into, yet I still don't have the confidence to do it yet. I'm at a place where I feel like Paul when he writes about not being able to do good despite knowing what is good. I pray for any resolution I can get in this season of my life."
